DES MOINES, IOWA — Homesteaders Life Co. and the Chicago area-based Trocars Motorcycle Organization are working together to organize the annual NFDA Convention Motorcycle Rally benefiting the Funeral Service Foundation, according to a news release. The event happens Sunday,
Approximately 40 riders participated in the 2010 event in New Orleans, and previous events in Las Vegas, Boston and Orlando, Fla., have attracted as many as 60 riders and passengers. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Trocars will lead the participants on an approximately 90-minute ride to Milwaukee, Wis., headquarters of the Harley-Davidson Motor Co. and home to the Harley-Davidson Museum. Opened in 2008, the museum houses more than 450 Harley-Davidson motorcycles and hundreds of thousands of artifacts, including the very first Harley-Davidson to roll off the production line.
Participants who choose not to ride their own motorcycles in the Rally can rent a motorcycle at www.chicagoharley.com/shop/rentals.php. Riders will be shuttled to the dealership from one of the three official convention hotels, courtesy of Aurora Casket Company. If you have questions about renting a bike, call 847-418-2929 or 888-338-6868 and talk to Alex or Kat at Chicago Harley-Davidson Rentals.
